WELCOME! Thanks for checking out the new blog! I dabbled in some blogging a few years ago to get my creative juices going, then moved on to co-found Going Lovely, an event design and coordination business where I transferred my blogging and creative efforts for the last few years. My amazing business partner PJ is now running the show over there (since my time is a little busy with a full time gig over at Pinterest and now twins on the way), so I figured it was time to pick up the blogging bit again and here I am!
A little bit about me and what you might find me rambling about over here…
I’m Christie, married to my best friend since 2011 and living in the Bay Area with our 2 year old Goldendoodle Lux.
We’ve added quite a few life changes since tying the knot – Troy (my better half) went to business school, we moved from San Francisco to Stanford, I worked at Facebook where I spent a couple of years traveling the globe setting up call centers, and decided to add to the craziness and co-found Going Lovely to get my creative fix on the side. After 6 years at Facebook, I was ready for a change and found my way to my dream company Pinterest (the perfect combination for my love of tech and creativity/design), to build out their business support team. Oh, and before I started (and before Troy graduated and started his job in investment banking) we bought our first house in Burlingame (a charming little town just south of San Francisco) and quickly added our Goldendoodle Lux to the mix.
As if all that wasn’t enough to add to our plate over the course of a few years, we also began trying to start our family and went through quite the journey along the way. After over 2 years filled with hope and disappointment, highs and lows, lots of doctors appointments, and shots and hormones galore, we finally got our miracle babies with the help of an amazing doctor in Denver. We are just weeks away from meeting our boy/girl twins and couldn’t be more grateful or excited.
So that’s my story. I’ll be sharing more about my love for design and DIY, how I’m making our house a home, my lifestyle hacks to stay sane with a million things going on, and because it’s something that was obviously a big part of my life the past couple of years and isn’t discussed enough in my opinion, my experience battling with infertility. Oh, and once these babies come, expect to see an abundance of twin pictures and hear about our adventures in parenting and being a working mama 🙂
